tiffany – bridal portrait

I posted last month with a sneak peek of Tiffany’s back walking through the apple orchard.  Tiffany and Brad were married Friday night at Crest Center, so I can finally show you the rest of the bridals!  A huge THANK YOU to Tiffany’s MIL Yvonne and Tiffany’s BFF and Maid of Honor Courtney for all her help.

desiree and marty

When Desiree called me about her wedding photography, she told me about getting married at her aunt’s house outside Greeneville, TN.  It seems like we talked forever about how excited she was about the wedding and how happy she was to have found Marty.  Soon afterwards, they came and met with me at my studio – just before the vendor event that I did in February.  Before they left, Marty told me about how excited Desiree was to have me taking the wedding photos and that she doesn’t let anyone take pictures of her – so that was a big deal.  Marty even gave me a mini-pep talk about my upcoming party and the direction my business is going.  He is a special one!

Believe me, if you have the pleasure of knowing Desiree and Marty, you are truly blessed – as was evident when I met their families and saw all the hard work and attention to detail that made their wedding so special.  Desiree’s aunt Trudy went all out to make her property along the river perfect for the wedding.  They built a gazebo on the river and had everything decorated so awesome with lots of greenery and little birds and birds’ nests.  I couldn’t get over all that they had done!

One of the highlights of the day was the horse drawn carriage that took Desiree from the cabin down to the ceremony site.  They also did a dove release at the end of the ceremony.  Absolutely beautiful!  Ben from Big Time Entertainment did some fun games and had a talent contest based on 3 songs – I bet you can guess which ones they were!  Marty, his daughter and Desiree’s aunt did a great performance of “Kiss” by Prince.  Everyone had so much fun!  Marty’s sister made him an apron and them a gorgeous quilt!  I absolutely LOVE the twilight couple photos at the end.  I have to give special recognition to Holley Creek Florist for the fantastic job they did and also Unique Cake and Catering from Bristol – LOVE the draped fondant!

get to know – erika and johnathan

I have a new blog category – get to know.  Engagement session sounds so boring.  If you haven’t noticed, there is a new category header and you can search for different vendors or venues.

Ta da – Erika and Johnathan.  I can’t tell you how much I love Erika and Johnathan.  I first met them at the January bridal show and was so excited when her mom called and hired me 2 days later on Monday morning.  They are having a fabulous wedding at Deerpark Restaurant on the Biltmore Estate.  I am extra excited that they have event planners extraordinaire Maggie Schlubach and Carlene Scharf working with them to make everything wonderful!

They brought along their beautiful Boston Terrier, Jewelz, and she is such a camera hog.  I mean Erika is gorgeous, but Jewelz tried to steal the show.  Erika and Johnathan have my favorite couple story – they have known each other since kindergarten!  How sweet is that!  Always friends, they didn’t fall in love until 3 years ago.

We just happened to time their “get to know you” session when all the azaleas and all the spring flowers were in full bloom.  The Estate was so bright and beautiful!   They love the bamboo, too.  Wait until you see some of Erika’s bridals!!!

elizabeth and barron

Elizabeth and Barron are getting married in November in Marion. They wanted to do their engagement session out at Cataloochee because Barron’s family was one of the original settlers out in that remote community. Every year, there are 2 homecomings in the Cataloochee Valley and that is a special time for his family. The best time to go is right before the sun starts setting, because the elk come back into the valley. We were lucky enough to see a lot of wild turkeys and a bunch of elk. We were getting ready to go up in the last barn when a huge elk came and blocked our path.  Both Elizabeth and Barron are teachers so we had some fun in the old school house.  Barron did a special proposal at school for Elizabeth and involved her principal and friends.  They were written up in the Morganton News Herald on the front page on Valentine’s Day!  I must say that Barron is the tallest groom ever and I am quite vertically challenged.  I kept looking for ways for me to get high enough above him that I wasn’t shooting up at him all evening.

courtney and manning

Courtney and Manning had the perfect Southern wedding!  Courtney is so classic and beautiful, especially in the gorgeous dress from Southern Bride!  She is so much fun – I just love talking to her.  You can tell from her facial expressions that she is hilarious!  They were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn with the reception following at the Ryan Nicholas Inn in Simpsonville.  The grand staircase was the center point of the couple’s entrance into the reception and start of their first dance.

The gorgeous floral design was by Dave at Memories by McMillian in Greer.  The cake by Kathy & Company was a work of art and delicious!  I loved the pale yellow with the hydrangea!  They had punch! – in a punch bowl!!!  It was gorgeous and reminded me how much I miss people actually serving punch.

I already previewed the groomsmen jumping shot here and they were great sports!  The ladies did a little Sex and the City walking for me.  I always get that “More, more, more” song stuck in my head!  Since the wedding was on a Sunday afternoon, the reception didn’t last very long.  We rushed through the portraits to get the couple into their guests before they started leaving.  After a quick trip through the car wash, Courtney and Manning came back and did some more romantic portraiture.  It was great to have the extra time with them!
