christopher – 3 month session

If you are a regular reader of my blog, first off – thank you! and secondly, you will already know that Christopher is part of a family that I have become so close with. His auntie is Angie, whose wedding I photographed in July. It is so fun seeing how much the babies grow in between photo shoots! Plus, they start getting used to me and know me, so I think it goes better. Christopher is a sweetie! He has developed such a cute personality and he has so many wonderful facial expressions. I love the ones with his Papa, what a sweet photo with his grandfather! I always put “get the Kleenex, Vanessa” in emails to his grandma. Auntie Angie was crying at work!

“Oh my goodness- I am the one that is crying!!!! He is beautiful, you are all beautiful. I can’t believe those smiles. Oh how happy!!!! Much love from Nashville, Auntie A “

“Oh my goodness!!!! You really outdid yourself. Of course you had excellent material to work with!!!! I love the slideshow and the pictures with Papa (Mike) are so precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christopher and Mike both are smiling so big. I am so glad you got some with him. Thank you for doing that. You are very thoughtful and I can’t thank you enough… I love you bunches.” -Vanessa

Isn’t it funny that they both start out with “Oh my goodness!” I didn’t even notice it until I pasted their quotes into this post.

carla and andy

After many emails and telephone calls, I finally met Carla and Andy for their engagement photos while they were home in Georgia visiting her family. We met in Helen, GA, which is a little Bavarian town in the middle of nowhere. When I was driving into town, I saw a cute putt-putt place, so I suggested we shoot there. We had such a blast! Talk about a gorgeous couple with some serious blue eyes. On their first date, Carla beat him twice at bowling, so Andy was very happy when he won the putt-putt. I am looking forward to their wedding in November! Thanks for being up for something different!

jessica and chris

I have been out of town and shooting like crazy lately. I am getting caught up on the blogging.

Jessica and Chris ended up hiring me at the last minute for their wedding. I was honored that they chose me to spend the day with them. We did a fast forward wedding week – met them on Tuesday, they hired me, we shot the engagement and then on Saturday I was at their wedding. Their wedding was at the beautiful Pinebrook Manor in Hendersonville. They are such a wonderful young couple that just graduated from Western and have bought a new house and moved across state for their new jobs. Jessica and Chris were very involved in the sorority and fraternity (respectively) and they had some fun moments during the reception. The girls all gathered in a circle around Jessica and passed a candle while singing and then she blew out the candle. Then, the guys were uh, guys and super rowdy. I always let the couple see their photos first, so they just finally got internet at the new house and now I can share the photos.

Here’s the reaction from Jessica’s email: “unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! it brought me to tears………thank you so much that was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our wedding would not have been the same without you there to capture the memory!! thank you again.”

emily and paul – engagement photos

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Emily and Paul last weekend. When she said that they have a barn, I was all for it. Then, I got there and it was so awesome. I didn’t realize until I was turning up her driveway that she is Emily Hyatt, who lives on Emily Drive on Hyatt Creek. (note: We have all these parts of the county called that are named for people that settled in the community, more are Plott Creek and Jonathan Creek.)
The old barn and farmhouse were perfect backgrounds and special to her family. We were just finishing up at the barn when it clouded over and we could actually hear the rain coming. We went up on the porch and waited for a little while. I was excited that I got them to run to the car in the rain and I got soaked, but it was worth it for the photos.
Her parents don’t have high speed internet, so I took my lap top by for her to watch the slideshow. It was the first time I got to see the reaction to one in person. When she was tearing up, it was so cool to see someone so emotional over their photos.

Here’s the recommendation that Emily posted on Pictage: “Regina is wonderful!! She does such a fabulous job of captivating not only the individuals in the picture, but also the beautiful surroudings. Her photographs aren’t lifeless like some, but rather they capture the moment, the setting and the spirit of those being photographed. Not only are her pictures great, but we had a really good time taking the engagement pictures. My fiance and I pretty much just strolled around my family farm, and Regina captured the joy we share when we are together. I look forward to her doing the rest of my wedding pictures. She has a great personality, she’s very sweet and accommodating; I would definitely recommend her as a photographer no matter what the event may be!”

slideshows moved to www.reginaholder.net

I apologize again for any inconvenience I have caused by launching the new website. All of the slideshows have been moved to www.reginaholder.net now. So, whatever your slideshow link was previously at www.reginaholder.com/name it is now www.reginaholder.net/name – I hope that isn’t too confusing. All of the links have been updated on the sidebar. I am in the process of sending an email to everyone about their new slideshow location. I was having serious problems getting the slideshows posted to the new hosting company and the .net was the best solution I could think of. If for any reason your slideshow is not working, please email me reginaholder@hotmail.com

Thank you for your patience.
